About the Artists:
Kirk Hanser

Kirk Hanser ( left ) received his Bachelor of Music from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and his Master of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. He has taught for several colleges and universities including Shenandoah University of Winchester, Virginia, Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and the University of Wisconsin system.

Hanser moved to St. Louis in January of 1996 to assume the position of Director and Instructor with the St. Louis branch of the Childbloom Guitar Program with the hopes of reaching more and more young people. He was presented with Childbloom's National Teacher of the Year award for 1996, and received 1998's Outstanding Program award. In addition, he currently teaches for the St. Louis & St. Charles College systems, and serves as president of the St. Louis Guitar Consortium, Inc.

Hanser has appeared as soloist with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, with flute and guitar on Wisconsin Public Radio's prestigious Live at the Elvehjem concert series, and has performed throughout Europe and Japan. He has appeared on several recordings for the DCV, DDI and JKG labels.

Kirk Hanser plays a G.V. Rubio "Hauser Model" by appointment with Guitars International of Cleveland, Ohio. He resides in St. Louis with his wife, Laura, and their three children.
