History of the HMGD
The duo of John McClellan ( right ) and Kirk Hanser ( left ) began performing together while organizing the 1996 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) Conference held in St. Louis, MO. While planning this highly successful event--serving as director and assistant director, respectively--they began performing together to promote the festival.
McClellan and Hanser have become known for their choice of entertaining programs, their technical and musical prowess, and their abilities for connecting with the audience.
The release of the duo's first feature CD, Jongo , is an exciting development in the world of guitar duo music. The project features South American music from some of the region's most famous composers.
